Why do you need to take a
Homebuyer Education Class?
Buying a home will likely be the largest purchase you will make in your life. Why not go into this process with the education and confidence to make knowledgeable decisions to protect yourself, your family, and your investment?
Additionally, when you apply for Local/County/State mortgage programs, down payment/closing cost assistance, or some lenders’ mortgage programs, you are required to complete a 1st Time Homebuyer Education Class and obtain a certification. AAHC is in compliance with HUD requirements and National Industry Standards, and we will issue you the certification at the completion of the class and counseling.
Our in-person class will give you direct access to the experts allowing you to benefit from their extensive expertise. You will learn the steps in the Homebuying process from start to finish, and how to stay on track as a responsible homeowner, including:
- Personal finance
- Developing a spending plan to meet your financial goals
- Understanding credit
- Working with the Lender and Real Estate Agent
- Home inspection and the role of the Inspector
- Understanding settlement procedures
- Find Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance available to you!
If an in-person class is not required, we also offer Online Homebuyer Education: www.aa-hc.org/online-homebuyer-education, or call (301)760-7636 to register.
